Question Motherboard swap problem

So I decided to upgrade my motherboard from the Asus H170-pro to the MSI MPG Z390 Pro Carbon. I am still using the same cpu, gpu, and hard drives. Once I installed and plugged everything into the motherboard and started it up the computer shuts on and off 3 times and then stays on, all Light strips, fans, and LEDS are functioning just fine, but there is no source coming through my monitors, and my mouse, keyboard, and other usb plug-ins are not responding. What could I be doing wrong?

While the socket is physically the same, 1151....the Z390 only supports Gen 8 an 9 CPU's.

Presumably you have an earlier one that went with your H170?

Yeah that would probably do it. I thought saw in a video somewhere that the z390 supported more than the 8th and 9th gen.
