I'm looking at buying a used, untested secondhand mobo off of silicon valley goodwill on ebay. It seems cheap enough that I can resell it as the same and not incurr any real losses.
I'm curious about how to test it in my system without reloading windows or things that extreme as it might not work. So can I just pull my mobo, swap the cpus and such, leave off my drives, and try to post it into bios? The mobo supports my cpu w/o a bios update. Also, can I use my current CMOS battery? I figure those are pretty universal right?
