Wondering if anyone could help me, i have an Asus Z97-K motherboard and i am confused with the readings for the temperatures. I have downloaded both Speedfan and HWMonitor, and both are saying my motherboard is currently running at 117 degrees, but when i enter the bios on start up it is saying the motherboard is running at 20 degrees. Could both the programs be giving a false reading or something, seems strange it would be both. And i wouldn't have thought that the motherboard would run at 117 degrees? Thanks in advance

Solution

Lol! lets assume that the temperature reading is simply WRONG.
Most of these temp issues (in this extreme) are bad readings.

Download corsair link and see what it says for mobo.

my gpu is at 38 and my cpu 30, just the motherboard at 117, but like i said in bios it says 20

Are you getting this 117 under load or at idle? Is it in Fahrenheit or Celsius?

Thanks for taking the time to help, i have got three mobo temps on Corsair Link,

27.8C
30C
29.9C

Do you think its safe to say the other temps were false?
