I think support from ASUS told me the wrong information, which I'm pretty annoyed about, because they said that an ASUS PRIME B360M-A would work with an Intel i7-4790 processor (SR1QF 3.60GHZ). I cannot get it to fit. Am I doing something wrong, or is this for sure the wrong motherboard for the cpu, and what good motherboard out there would work instead?

B360 is a motherboard for 8th and 9th gen chips, yours is a 4th gen. For your CPU the list of compatible motherboards is below, you probably will need to change the country to see which ones are available:

Yeah....ASUS support is officially useless like I suspected. :\ They EVEN said it was 4th gen and proceeded to recommend that motherboard. I sent them a link to it on Amazon to confirm it was the right model too, and they confirmed it. What a waste of time.

Any recommendation on which out of that list is the best? I need to be able to install a Radeon HD 6850 graphics card.

Which country are you in?

Try to find a used B85 or Z97 motherboard, finding such older gen hardware in a new condition will cost you unnecessarily more than what the hardware is worth. H81 motherboards are also fine but it's a lower-end chipset so an i7 might be a little too much for it. B85 and Z97 are your best bets, and since it's a pretty old part, of course buying new is way too expensive, but you might find it for cheap in used market.

Does it matter which one of each on that list, cause there's several models with the same names?

I'm just looking for one, cause there's too many to choose from.

The list I sent is only of new motherboards, they aren't used. For used parts you'll have to look on eBay or Craigslist or whatever else platform is used where you live for selling old stuff. If you want to buy new, any motherboard on that PC Part Picker list is fine, but again I'd avoid H81 motherboards.

Edit: Checked on eBay, there's good options on both Z97 and B85, just buy one that works(there are many that have bent pins, or do not work. Be sure to check the description before buying).

I don't want a used motherboard. The list wasn't showing prices or where to buy. Most lead to asking if I wanted to be notified if one becomes available. The rest lead to very expensive motherboards.
I want to spend under $200, and get a good motherboard that works with a Radeon graphics card and supports an i7-4790.

I found this (I prefer Asus), but unsure if it's the right call:

The problem with the list I sent was that it showed the parts available in India. Anyway, that motherboard will fulfill your needs and is a decent board. Expensive for what it offers, but that's just how old motherboards are. You can buy it.

Yeah, I had changed the list to show in the U.S, but ran into the same issue.
Is there a cheaper new motherboard you'd recommend over that one, or?

Weird. These are the two motherboards that are cheaper than the one you mentioned and still fit your needs: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/btbkcf/biostar-tb85-atx-lga1150-motherboard-tb85
and

I wouldn't buy the $63 motherboard since it's a really small mini-ITX board that might make compromises in other departments to reduce its size, like number of SATA ports. In fact, I just checked and it doesn't have a PCI-e x16 slot, so there's no place for your GPU. So it's either the Biostar one or the one you already mentioned. There's others as well, but they are more expensive than the Asus one you have linked(but still under $200 options are available).

I ended up buying the one I initially linked from Amazon. Here's hoping it doesn't have any intermittent issues, since that happens sometimes, rarely.
