Motherboard to run 3 X 9800GTX

The link from the original post has some LGA 775 boards in it...just confirming, you're using a 2500K, right?

I don't believe I can find many that run it at full speeds (or close). Most will run x8, x8, x4...if that's OK, I would say the ASrock you mentioned is a solid choice - I love my Extreme4.
If you aren't going to use SLI, why do you need 3 x 9800GTX? What are you using the cards for? Do you already have them?

If you are just hoping to drive a bunch of monitors, you could get much cheaper cards that would save you a lot on power and still do all the normal things you need.

If you are gaming, I'd think you'd be better off with one higher end card (and possibly the others being lower end that drive the other screens.

Please give more information as to what you are looking to do and we can probably be more help.
 


Do you already have them? Have the cards.
What are you using the cards for? Cooperative computing. Seti, Collatz Conjecture for example.(See Sig link).
Not driving Monitors.
Not gaming.

Cool...just trying to help out. We try our best to take a look at the whole picture.

If you find anything that is 1155 that will take 3 cards at x8 or above, you should be OK...I believe there are a number of boards, but you really don't need something intended for overclocking, I assume...just somethings stable with a lot of x16 (x8) slots, right?
 
Stable and less than 250 a pop would be nice.

There are 5 9800gtx and 1 460gtx that I want to consolidate to 2 boxes if possible.

Managing this right now is a pain.

After migrating I'll sell off the processors and MBs they are in now.

I figured so...I'll keep poking around, but I can't remember ever seeing one that had x8, x8, x8. That's why the 1366 boards still have some relevance...the number of PCIE slots (though they get beat in CPU benchmarks by SB).
