Hi all,

I recently bought:

16 GB DDR4 Crucial RAM
Intel Core i7 7700
Corsair CX550
MSI Z270-A Pro

I'm trying to install these with my Radeon R9 280x Vapor-X and Western digital 3 TB and 1 TB HDDs. I've got everything in, both power connectors (CPU and 24 pin near the memory) hooked up. The GPU is in the top PCIE slot, with both the 8 pin PCI-E connectors hooked in from the PSU. The only thing missing is a sound card, which I don't have because the old one I used is PCI, not PCI-E.

When I power on the system, the motherboard lights up, but it sounds pretty quiet, like something must not be running. The fans on the GPU and CPU are spinning and the card lights are on.

One weird thing: If I remove the GPU, the system won't power on at all, even though this CPU supposedly has integrated graphics according to the description on Amazon.

Also, I know the RAM is fully in, because when it wasn't before, the system wouldn't turn on at all. I got it in properly and now it turns on, but there is no output to the monitor (I tried the HDMI port on the card and the VGA port on the onboard video, nothing either way).

The board has an EZ Debug LED on it, which when the RAM was not in properly, would light up on DRAM and stay there. After I fastened it in there, the motherboard turns on but it looks like DRAM and CPU briefly flash white or bright blue repeatedly (like less than half a second each) until I turn the system off.

Another problem is that I don't have a case speaker (I've ordered one but it won't get here til the weekend).

Any ideas? I'm fearing the worst, like CPU damage, but am hoping it's just something dumb I'm missing.
