I've got a Dell XPS 8300 mid-tower with the following specs:

micro-atx motherboard with intel h67 chipset
i7-2600k cpu, lga1155
nvidia gtx 560ti gpu
6gb ddr3 ram

I'd like to upgrade the motherboard while using as many of my existing components as I can, including the dell xps case. Any suggestions for a new, better motherboard will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Intel Socket LGA 1155 was the model for 2011/2012. It was replaced by Socket LGA 1150 for 2013/2014.

You want a new LGA 1155 motherboard that is better. Not a lot still available for something that old.

Retail boxed motherboards do not use the Dell case one piece front panel connector.

If your original CPU is LGA1155, it won't fint LGA1150.

But - what's the purpose of replacing just the motherboard? You won't get any noticeable performance gain, and you will get ton of problems (not to count that you will probably need new Windows license).

Although the info about the board is correct. But The man is asking how much he can upgrade the dang thing as much as possible WITHOUT CHANGING THE BOARD! You can just about put any processor that came at the time the LGA 1155 was around. So any socket 1155 CPU will work fine such as the i7 3770k which was tops at the time. You can also upgrade the memory up to 32gb of ddr3 sdram. i would recomend upgrading the power supply to at least 500 to 600 watts although 800 would be ideal but take caution of the cable configuration of the newer power supplies made after 2012. You can also upgrade the video card to almost any cards that were out at the time like the Geforce 7000 to the GTX540, 660 and 770. When you change the CPU to the 3770, be sure to upgrade the cpu cooler and windows will ask you for your KEY but just use the one labeled on your box.
