Hello,

I have recently gotten back into PC gaming pretty hard. I have a PC that I have slowly upgraded over the last few years, but now I am to the point I think I need a new motherboard to be able to handle the processor jump that I am looking for. Unless the jump from my A6-3620 to the A8-3870k is more drastic than I realize.

Otherwise I need help determining a solid CPU and motherboard upgrade that would be compatible with all of my other hardware. Looking to run some games like PUBG, ARMA2, ARMA3, DayZ. Running ARMA 2 lately, I noticed a good bit of my CPU was being used.

Current Build
CPU: AMD A6-3620 Quad Core 2.2GHZ (played with overclocking with AMD OverDrive just a little, but it scares me haha)
Graphics: GeForce GTX 660Ti
RAM: 12GB 1333Hz DDR3
HD: Samsung EVO 860 250GB SSD
Backup HD for work file storage: 500GB standard SATA
PSU: Corsair TX650w
Case: "Gaming" case - Lots of room. Vented with 4 fans. Runs less than 75F idle. Runs ~105F while running the CPU intensive game I've been playing - ARMA 2 and ARMA 3
Windows 10 64 Bit

Yeah. If you have a modular power supply, make sure you have all the "surplus" cables incase you need a different one. Everything else should work. You will have to do a clean install of Windows.

Ahh sorry about that! I can see where that would help :)

The base model PC that I started with is the Acer M3470G-UW10P. I am still using the same motherboard with the FM1 socket. Does this help?

I thought that might be your answer. So my current PSU, GPU and SSD will work on most new boards correct? Maybe I can find a combo package with motherboard, CPU and RAM?
