Solution
More correctly there is no such thing as an 115X socket. That is a term for compatible coolers for any of the following:

LGA1156 (1st generation Core series, i5-760 and the like)
LGA1155 (2nd and 3rd generation Core series, i5-2400, i5-3570 and the like)
LGA1150 (4th and 5th generation Core series, i5-4670 (5th generation only had two limited run CPUs, very rare)
LGA1151 (6th and 7th generation Core series, i5-6600, i5-7600)
LGA1151 v2 (8th generation Core series, i5-8400, no backwards compatibility with 6th and 7th generation hardware)

For proper CPU compatibility you need to get your motherboard model. Try downloading and running CPU-Z to check.

If you're using an i5 2400 then you are using 1155. The i5 4590 uses 1150.

By the way, I know you didn't ask this but I'd recommend you upgrade to an i7 if the 2400 is not enough. Jumping to a slightly newer i5 will result in better performance but not in a huge way. At this point you already have a 'good enough' 4 core/4 thread CPU. Any upgrade should be to either 6 cores or at least 4 core/8 thread. An i7 2600 should drop right in, assuming your motherboard accepts upgrades.
