Motherboard with an LGA 1151 socket and DDR3

I am thinking opgrading to a new
i5-6500 and I do not have a motherboard that supports that chip. I was wondering if there is any mother board that I can use my current 16gbs of DDR3 on.

I would like to keep the price under $85 but I can go over if nessasary.

I use that K4/D3. Overclocked my locked i3 and my DDR3 quite high.

That article has been debunked as clickbait. They never did any testing whatsoever to prove any problems with normal JEDEC rated DDR3.

you are using DDR3 and a skylake i3 CPU (i3 6100 perhaps?), did you get any issues till now?

No problems, and I literally beat things down in my test lab. Been running overnight stress tests several times per week since the beginning of the year. That's likely more wear and tear than most users will put on a CPU in 10 years, and I haven't broken it yet. I generally try to break things eventually, so that I can learn the real tolerance thresholds. The weakest point in these Skylake CPUs seems to be the stock TIM under the lid.

i told a few users to sell their DDR3 RAM and buy a new DDR4 RAM for their new skylake builds. i hope they forgive me 😀

Not yet, but I probably will next year.
