Question Motherboard with no backplate issue

I just recently received a used LGA 1155 motherboard off eBay and unfortunately it did not come with a cpu fan backplate so I cannot install the cpu fan. Will I need to buy one online or could I improvise and put standoffs in the cpu fan screw holes and connect the cpu fan that way?

The iFive processor does not come with the CPU fan, so yes, you'll have to buy one.... :-(
