Motherboard with Surround Sound?

My PC has the GIGABYTE G1.Sniper Z97 Motherboard (Intel Z97 Chipset) . It also says it includes "Onboard Creative Sound."

I want to get a gaming headset for my pc that has surround sound, and read in another forum that if the motherboard has surround sound, it will automatically make your headset have it as well.

The headset I'm looking at is the Astro A40 Headset, which I know doesnt have surround sound, but If i get the kit with an included "mixamp" it will provide surround sound for the headset.

Im also looking at the Kingston HyperX Cloud headset.

My question is, does my motherboard's "onboard creative sound" mean it has surround sound capabilities? And if it does, does that mean i can just get the ASTRO headset WITHOUT the mixamp?
How about the HyperX Cloud, will that produce surround sound with the motherboard as well? Is it even surround sound capable?

so even though its a great chip it still won't give a headset thats only "capable" of having surround sound ACTUALLY have surround sound?

Its capable of 5.1 channel sound

If the head set can handle that it will deliver it as surround sound

Its about as good a sound system as you get in motherboards
