So i'm upgrading my PC which has an IPMEL-Q5 from American Megatrends Mobo (Everywhere shows that can use up to 16gb of RAM).

I bought 4x2Gb of 800mhz ddr2 RAM. 2x2gb works fine, but when i try to stick more than that, it starts beeping.

Yes i have tried the mobo battery thing, yes i have a 64bit SO (win8.1 pro), yes i've tried all RAMS one by one and all work fine.

I have not been able to find a MOBO BIOS update, it's impossible to find one. That pice of crap program of BIOS agent or whatever tells me the "AMI" is not updated, but you have to pay for the damn program...

Anybody knows what happens?
Thanks.

Yeah, i saw page two days ago. Just tells me i can in fact use more than 4gb.

As I said, al RAM is NEW and same. Im working fine with 2 of the 4 sticks (which are place in channel A both of them).

So, ram work fine and are dual channel compatible. What else could be?

The motherboard has 2 channels with 4 slots; therefore it supports dual channel mode. Quad channel mode doesn't exist for older motherboards.

Franc_CAT what memory kit are you trying to install?
