Motherboard won't allow overclock.

Hello,

My MSI Z87 G45 motherboard won't allow an overclock.

Updated to the latest BIOS, what should I do?

There are tons of people with the same motherboard all over the internet that do overclock it. Do you know how to overclock? What exactly "isnt working"?

If your CPU is a non K version then you cant overclock. You need an i5/i7 xxxxK to be able to overclock

This is for a friend btw. I know how to overclock, I gave him my old motherboard - Using a Intel Pentium G3258. Just coming with an error that the motherboard won't allow the overclock.

Reset the bios and try taking out cmos battery
