Okay so i have a Asus 970 pro gaming/Aura and i had a friend put the CPU in(Never again) after booting up windows i wanted to check it was reading all 12 gb or RAM i installed and it was but about 8 gbs was in Hardware Reserve so i could only use 4 gbs read a few forms and someone said to update windows to 64 bit(already had that). They also said to check the CPU and that's when i noticed he ended up bending like 6 pins in the CPU

I tried to straighten them. I did all except one... It broke off. I then put the CPU into the computer and it thought i put in a new/different CPU I clicked F1 and continued on it for at lest a few hours.

I started to notice the CPU fan was running a lot louder then normal and when i touched the side of the CPU Fan Heatsink it was really warm.one of the Heatsinks just under the CPU AIR heatsink(NU1_HEATSINK) was burning hot as I was playing games and downloading things (at the same time on steam). Eventually the computer shut down on its own refusing to power back up using the power button or jumpstarting it.

The Heatsink LED(SU1_HEATSINK) and Stand BY LED work so i'm getting power. I Have a feeling it's the CPU but I would still like some ideas before i just go out an randomly buy things that i might not need (CPU is an automatic ima by it) people were telling me my mobo might be fried or the PSU was fried. I have taken every step i could find on this and other forums. Other then replacing the CPU and PSU. I just want to conform that due to the LED lights being ON the Mobo that it's NOT fried.

Hardware Specs:

CPU: Phenom II x3 720 2.8GHz
PSU: ATX-CB500W
Ram:12gbs = 4gbs Corsair Dominator, 4gb Kingston, 4gb hymix or hynix??(not sure about that last one
GFX Card: Windforce GTX 760 4gb
Sound card:Sound Blaster(Sound Core 3D if that helps)
IOS: Windows 10 64-bit Pro up to date

Solution
Haven't done it personally but know of few cases when it worked. Providing CPU was not ruined some other way. Nothing can work without PSU of course.
There's very few unused or doubled up pins on the processor and your missing one is probably very important. Also with so much handling of pins it's conceivable that some static has ruined it.
There's one trick for missing pin you can try. Take a small piece of wire same gauge as the pins, stick in the socket hole of the missing pin and trim to about 1mm above surface. Once you place CPU in and tighten cooler it should make sufficient contact and possibly work like that.

Would That Fix the Ram Problem im having?? I just tested the PSU and it's not working so i'm going to replace the PSU and the CPU but i should probably get a PSU first just in case your idea works... also i wouldn't be able to use it with out a PSU

Yeah i replaced the pin with a metal thing i cut... i might have to do it again just in case the metal wasn't long enough or conductive came off a sandwich bag tie
