Motherboard wont recognize keyboard until after boot-up

SPECS:

Issue: When I try to enter my BIOS on startup my keyboard is unresponsive. Once Windows is running the keyboard works fine. (It's a USB Corsair Vengeance K70). The thing that is strange to me is that the LEDs are on even when the keyboard is unresponsive during boot-up.

Things I've tried:
- Resetting CMOS by removing the battery for 15 minutes.
- Using a USB to PS/2 adapter with the keyboard. The lights are off and they keys are unresponsive even after startup.

Adapters rarely work with keyboards. You need a native PS/2 keyboard (try Amazon).

Or take off the adapter and plug KB back in to a USB port, then look in BIOS settings for anything related to USB support and enable it.

I found the solution. I had to update my bios drivers.
