Question Motherboard wont turn on but gets power

I’ve built a pc like 2 weeks ago, bought a new cooler and everything worked. Put it away for a week and now it doesnt turn on, the motherboard shows that it gets power but i can’t turn it on.

I have tried jumping the mb with a screwdriver, and the cable for the front panel power switch doesnt work.

I have tried re-assembling the PC but didn’t work,

i have tried multiple power cables to the PSU

I have taken out the CSMO battery and put it back in.

I have double-checked every power cable leading to the motherboard

Its weird because everything worked, nothing changed but now the mb is acting up.

4 gb Ram

You just built the PC with 12 year old parts?

I'm guessing these were used parts?

Its my brothers yes, cooler new though and there was an even older motherboard and processor before i replaced them with my friends components. I’m willing to just install all programs etc before i upgrade.

You're more than likely going to have to reinstall Windows after the motherboard upgrade.

The motherboard probably has some failed capacitors due to its age.

What are you trying to do on this PC? Even if just web browsing, you're probably better off getting a refurbished PC for $200. If it's for playing any games released in the last 7 years forgot about it!

i’ve already spent a buunch of time on this pc just for this to happen, i just sold my 1300$ PC because i just couldn’t use all of its potential. Therefore i wanted a little cheaper one.

I mean not really, but nothing smells fried or anything, all cables all still intact.

im thinking, if i cant even jump the motherboard, then theres something wrong with it?

Could definitely be the problem.
