He is asking what MB would support both DDR3 and Core 2 Quad.

The way he words it you can not really tell :/

The P35, P45, P43, G41, G43, G45, B43, Q43, Q45, x38 and x48 chipsets all support DDR3 and Core 2 Quad CPU's...

Nah, only certain LGA775 MBs support DDR3. I am not sure about other brands, but it is the case for ASUS.

That is true, you have to check each motherboard to be sure.
This is because the above chipsets support both DDR2 and DDR3, it was up to the OEM to decide which to use.
With performance 100% the same and DDR2 being cheaper (when these chipsets where new), most where made to support DDR2..
