I’m currently building my first pc and accidentally screwed in the motherboard without putting the standoffs in first. Will this have any affect on the motherboard when I go to start it up later on? I haven’t started it yet but just curious if that would cause anything. Also from having to take these screws out and putting them back in with the standoffs I have one screw that isn’t as snugged as the others will this also affect anything?

Solution
You must use the stand offs. If you do not you risk shorting out and damaging the motherboard on the case. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘snugged’ but just make sure the stand offs are in place.

They’re in place now, but as I was assembling I forgot to put them on and screwed in the motherboard without them. But as far as unscrewing the motherboard and putting the standoffs on everything should still be good?
