If I buy a new motherboard with a video card built in how
difficult would it be to de-activate that video card so I can
use another one or do I even need to de-activate it?
I have a ATI - TV tuner card to record video and I want to
build a better machine to use it in.

Deactivate the onboard video in the bios and install the new video card
(following the card maker's instructions). Or buy a motherboard with no
onboard video???
