Question motherboards and rootkits

Assuming i cleaned all partitions and did a reinstall of windows, would replacing my motherboard ensure that my system is 100% rootkit free?

i am concerned I might have one.

Replacing the motherboard alone does not get rid of malware since rootkits, viruses and other malware live on storage devices, not on motherboards.
