I'm planning on buying the AMD 9900X CPU when it comes out in a week or so. Are there current motherboards that will be compatible with the new CPU? Or do I have to wait for motherboard manufacturers to make them? I plan on upgrading from a Ryzen 7 3700, 16GB DDR4 to a Ryzen 9 9900X and 32GB of DDR5 RAM.

All 600 chipset series MBs are going to be compatible providing proper BIOS version is installed. It might take few months (depending on market) for new MBs to come with necessary BIOS upgrade so you should be ready for that. Either get vendor to do it for you or get an MB that can update BIOS without compatible CPU. "BIOS Flashback Button" which most quality MBs have it nowadays.
9900x is supposed to drop power requirement to 120W (from 170w for 7900x) so practically any MB should be able to take it and some more.
