i found very usefull the psu tier list in the forums ( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html ) is there a motherboard version of this? here or on any site?

Not as comprehensive as you might be looking for, but a good reference point for quality boards in varying prices and chipsets.
