Question Motherboards with 2 x PCIe 5.0 slots ?

Hi,

On motherboards which say they have 2 x PCIe 5.0 slots, does it mean if I install one graphics card and one NVMe SSD, they will both get their independent PCIe5.0 - 16 lanes each (i.,e. 32 lanes in total) or is it just a marketing gimmick and they both will end up using the same set of 16 lanes (8 lanes for the graphics card and 8 for the SSD) ?
