It took forever to get the 5.0 upgrade though.

Hmm, not sure if I like the idea of Lollipop on my Moto G. My only experience with Lollipop has been on my Nvidia Shield tablet and it has been lackluster at best.

I received the update yesterday, but I'll wait a few days to install it, even if every few hours the phone reminds me of it. I'd like to know other users experiences with this update before taking any chances, since you can't rollback to KitKat. (My phone: 1st gen. Moto G bought on Amazon when it went on sale on dec. 2013).

I've had it since end of march, I'm on Vodafone in the UK. I gave in to the constantly nagging update notification and I wish I didn't. Thought my moto g with kitkat was the best thing ever(for the money), sadly with lollipop it just isn't. It's laggy, there are some annoyances and bugs and it doesn't look all that good either. If I could safely go back to kitkat I would surely do it

Long story short, ONLY the Retail (Bought directly from Motorola) Moto G 1st Gen in the US has been released so far.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is still stuck on Android 4.3. Google really needs to do something to force the carriers to update their older products. The Galaxy Note 2 is capable enough to run lollipop and Samsung indicated there would be an update available but my carrier appears to have abandoned it. This continues to be Android's biggest area of opportunity.
