[SOLVED] Moto G6 Android Pie Update

I have a Motorola Moto G6 phone and today I received a notification for Android Pie 9.0. Before I update to it, I'd like to know if there are any pitfalls? Instability? Slower performance? I use this phone to access work emails via the Outlook app, and I really don't want to upgrade to find out the performance has been slowed down. The update notes "claim" faster application launches. Any input?

My son took the update on his G6 and it was nearly unusable, I had to boot to recovery and wipe the Cache then delete about a dozen apps "mostly games" that were incompatible with the update. When comparing it to stock vs now I would say now is a bit faster with a little better battery life but overall your not going to notice much of a performance difference outside the quality of life updates the upgrade gives you. One thing I did notice right off was less Bluetooth pairing issues and slower battery drain during Bluetooth use.
Given the 9 update has been pulled twice before now in North American markets due to bugs found in other regions I'd:

1. Be reasonably confident that any major bugs have been addressed
BUT
2. Hold off a bit, to ensure #1 is true.

Not aware of any widespread issues being reported, but probably worth holding off a little bit longer.

My moto x4 got the android pie at the start of this year. No problem so far and everything works well. It feels fast and there's no irrelevant apps installed.

However, Moto G6 is a little bit underpowered phone, so you probably won't see a big change but performance should get better.

I can say this because my Moto G4 Plus (2016) got better when i upgraded it from Nougat to Oreo.

Android pie has performance improvements as well as adaptive battery feature that stops drain from infrequently used apps.
