I'm beginning to think that a certain Motorola RAZR V3i that I bought is counterfeit.
Why?
Well, here's what I've found so far:
- You can clearly see into the phone from the front display up top, and the T9 keypad up top
- The front is not that pattern on the V3i - the genuine ones have that pattern, and this one has matte black only.
- The battery's authenticity sticker is not straight. In fact, it's bloody lopsided.
- The battery says 'Cell from Japan, finished in China'
- Motorola logo is definitely not real. It's taller and thinner than the genuine one.
- Battery cover does not fit properly. You can just slide it off with no effort
- The little piece that is supposed to hold the battery cover on is covered in weird pink stuff (???)
- That little piece can be detached at any time. You can hear it jiggling if you shake the phone!

Other than all these discrepancies, it seems to be running Motorola firmware.
Oh boy, that's £27 down the drain.

That phone is iconic and you are not getting a real one for 27 pounds. It's a collectors item. Just like we have fake iphones and whatnot nowadays back then we had fakes of the current popular devices. They worked and looked similar but were simply worse.

Ah well. Should've known it was too good to be true.
