So on my Motorola SBG6580 i cannot get it to port forward. I know how to port forward. i have experience doing it for multiple servers on a different router. But on this router i just cannot get it to port forward. i seached online and other people have this problem and they fixed it by leaving the external port as 0.0.0.0 and setting the start and end port as the same start and end point as the internal. the port i'm using 25565(yes minecraft). but that does not work. nothing i find online works for me and i refuse to go return the router. So can anyone help?

I already unselected it for you.

DMZ means demilitarized zone. is a function that lets you add any device on a list that will have all ports opened (meaning you don't need to individually forward ports for it).

most routers have this feature (except apple)

check if you have such thing in that motorola

Yes it does have a dmz.

well, add your PC to the DMZ, there is a lot of info online on how to do it. (I'm sorry I'm at work and quite busy so I can't look for that).

This is what the DMZ on my router looks like i assume i enter my IPv4 of the device i want to use. i did that and it didn't work

This is what the DMZ on my router looks like i assume i enter my IPv4 of the device i want to use. i did that and it didn't work. i did look up how to use the DMZ on my exact router and it turned into this complicated thing of chnaging different settings in my router just to use the dmz. It should not be this annoying to port forward.

That's what i have been doing from the start and it does not work. I have a newer version of the software for the router than what's in this video so the layout is a little different but i'm doing the same thing and it's not working. All the solution i found online tell me to do exactly what is shown in this video but it does not work for me. that is why i came to this site for help. when i check if the port is open i use this site http://www.canyouseeme.org/. i've tried a few others but they all gave me the same results that it is not open.

on a new note i am running a minecraft server off the 25565 port on my laptop and then on my desktop I run the game minecraft and connect to my public ip address and i am able to connect to my server. but i'm not sure if that's because it's a local connection or not. so i'd have to connect to a different internet connection and attempt to connect to the server or find someone else on a different connection to test it for me. At the moment i don't have anyone to test it.

well i don't think it could be windows firewall. The port forward goes through the router not windows. and if a external port checker website says the port is not open then windows should not have anything to do with that. now when someone tried to connect to the server their windows firewall may block it. but that is currently not an issue. Perhaps i should wait until i can get a friend to test connecting to the server that way i can get an external perspective.
