I just purchased a non-articulating wall mount for a 32" 1080p flat panel TV. It unfortunately didn't occur to me that my condo has metal studs on the internal walls. I want to mount it above my 3xEyefinity setup for live TV via. my card tuner.

The 32"tv only weighs 18lbs. Do you think drywall anchors will be sufficient? The mount tilts but I can't see myself moving it once I have it setup.

Also side question. My vid card setup will be 6950 -> 3xEyfinity & 6450 -> 32" for TV. Is it possible to direct WMC to output audio via HDMI and system sounds via sound card? This would be nice, potentially overly complicated.

Thanks in advance!

Drywall anchors will probably work for awhile assuming the mount has several screws, but I wouldn't use just drywall as bumping the tv will slowly widen the holes you made and the tv will eventually fall.

Can you not drill into the metal studs with a metal drill bit and then mount the stand?

As for dual sound this may work but Ive never attempted anything like that,

I have always just manually switched my output sound when I hook my tv to my pc.

That link was the exact info I needed for my desired Audio setup. Many thanks.

The mount has 5 screw holes. I'm going to give it a try with 2 through the metal stud and 3 with drywall anchors. The TV is so light that I think it will be fine. I just didn't want to hear "you'll pull the wall down and break the TV" ha!

Thanks again!
