Mounting A PSU

I have a case that top mounts the PSU. I want to mount it upside down with the fan facing up. I am going to drill a hole in the top of the case to fit the fan size and drill another hole for that offset screw hole on the PSU.

I was wondering if this was a good idea and if anyone had any tips about doing this?

not a good idea unless you have a strong & large rear fan right under the psu.
The ATX top mount design calls for the psu to suck in the warm air and exhaust it out the back so turning the psu upside down will leave the warm air with no place to go.

I totally agree with "popatim" on this one.

One other thing to consider is exactly how sturdy your case is. By removing such a chunk of metal from the case can easily weaken its structure. This is why cases that have PSU's mounted to draw outside air, have a honey comb style air holes for the PSU to draw air through. This in turn keeps some of the structural integrity making the case as strong as possible.
