An SSD is the Frank's Red Hot sauce of drives, you can mount that s*** anywhere. I've seen plenty of SSDs mounted with velcro to underneath the optical bays, on top of psus, blank spots behind the mobo tray, even zip-tied to hdd racks.

That's a dual ssd mounting bracket to adapt 2x SSDs to a 3.5 drive bay. Works fine in any hdd slot
