Let me preface by saying I am a novice at computer building.
Last night I upgraded my computer with a new motherboard, CPU and RAM. My computer was running windows 7.
After the BIOS screen, the keyboard and mouse both seem to lose power and stopped working. I restarted several times and this kept happening. Windows otherwise started normally. Restarting in safe mode did not fix this problem.
I was able to resolve this problem by doing a fresh install of windows 10 from a USB device.
I believe this error occurs because the drivers for the mouse and keyboard are configured to the old motherboard. But I'm not sure. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Is this a Windows 7 specific problem or will this happen again in the future when I upgrade my motherboard again?
