Mouse and Keyboard work, but no responce

My Windows 7 HP desktop just randomly stopped responding to my mouse and keyboard one day when I unplugged them. I know that its getting some kind of signal because they both light up when plugged in. Any thoughts?

Try switching to the rear/front ports, if they are currently in the front ports try the back etc.
