Mouse barely moves is bios

I just bought a 990fxa-ud3 board and I was setting it up in the bios but the mouse barley moves. It is taking me forever to get to certain features. I can use the keyboard for most things but not for the back button. Has anyone every had this problem. I have a Mad Cat RAT3 mouse.

tried any other USB ports?

Does this mouse require driver installation to run properly?

I have the same board and the mouse is also slow for me....I have always used the keyboard to make changes though and don't feel like it was ever a setback navigating around. Not 100% sure without checking but I am prettying sure hitting the ESC key is same as a "back" button. Pretty sure the slow mouse is just the way the UEFI is set up because I do know the faster DPI selections on my mouse don't change a thing as far as speed goes.
