Actually, if you like playing first-person shooters (FPSs), the lower the dpi, the better the precision of your aim.
The Logitech G500 is great for the FPS-type games. It has a uniquely roughend texture that sticks to your hand, but doesn't give any calous. The responsiveness is 1000/s polling rate and you can dial the DPI from 200 to 5700. I really like it. Buttons in the right spots, programmable profiles. You can even switch the DPI on the fly using buttons on the top-side of the mouse (some mice require you flip them over to switch dpi). You can program different DPI levels and button profiles per game.
