Hi,

I am currently deciding on a mouse based on my research and have come up with 5 mice.

ROCCAT KONE XTD
Razer Deathadder 2013 Edition
Logitech G400s
Anker High Prescision Mouse (8200 DPI)
Mionix Avior 7000

For my grip, I'm using a hybrid of Palm and claw. As for preference of laser vs optical, it honestly doesn't matter, as I've tested the difference between both in terms of acceleration, and I have to say, there was a negligible difference, if not a difference at all. But just in case, I put the Mionix Mouse because of the Avago 3310 Sensor. Would appreciate some advice from people that have used these mice with some experience (that means owning a Deathadder for 6+months, usually the expected time where Razer products start breaking down) thanks!

I'm going to be doing General gaming and FPS genres of gaming. I have no need for an MMO mouse, but I'll give credit, it has nicely placed buttons. I'm looking for something with two localized buttons that are easily reachable for my hand and not all over the place.

It's not just a MMO mouse, it's branded for that, but the mouse itself is very good. It's like buying a "gaming" monitor, some are good for gaming but those qualities may make it just a good monitor no matter what you use it for. I love the button placement on that WOW mouse, and the shape fits me very well. Of course other people may not feel the same way due to hand size and just general preferences.

Those 4 thumb buttons are some of the best placed (for my hands at least) that I have seen. Most others you have to reach backwards a bit or maybe forward to hit them. I tried a few other higher end mice like Razer and a few Logitech gaming mice. I liked the Logitech ones also, the MX models especially.
