mouse disconnecting with sound. (Its not the mouse!)

Spec:
Lenovo Z580. Intel i7, 8GB ram windows 7 64

Hi the mouse is randomly disconnecting and reconnecting with the found new hardware sound. It freezes for a couple of seconds, I get the sound and it starts working again.
I suspected the mouse of course, this has happened to me before with mice so I bought a new one.
All seemed good but its started doing it again!
Any ideas people?

if it has happened to you twice then maybe the usb port is damaged. Try plugging the mouse into different port if you havent already.

I actually tried an old mouse which I know was fine.
Since then, Ive been plugging into the other side of the laptop, the USB3 side and Ive not had a disconnect so far (with either mouse)
odd.
On the USB2 side, Ive been connecting my external drives and they are not disconnecting like the mouse was....
My laptop is only a year old, but I just know Im going to end up reinstalling the O/S soon.
