I had Windows 7, and sometimes the mouse would just stop clicking on certain things. It might click inside a Chrome window, but when clicking on the Start menu or task bar, nothing happened. The only thing that seemed to fix it was to hit CTRL-ALT-DEL, and click once, which seemed to "release" the mouse, and thereupon I could click on Task Manager or just go back to the desktop, where it would work again.
I couldn't find any solution, even after updating mouse drivers, so I just bit the bullet and did a fresh, clean install of Windows 10. Wiped out the whole C: drive just to be sure. And now it's doing the exact same thing in Windows 10.
Another regular detail: when I first boot the computer, it does this. It will click on things on the desktop, but the mouse just doesn't work on the task bar at all. Nothing happens.
It's a Logitech M510 mouse.
The only similarity software-wise I had between both is that Steam is installed, and so was Avast antivirus.
It's driving me nuts. Any advice?
