Today I installed VirtualBox, I created new virtual CD using DAEMON Tools so the virtual machine can run on it.
(I created the virtual machine before I created the virtual CD)

After creating the virtual CD it asked me to restart my computer and after the restart my mouse cursor was gone! (I think it is invisible and frozen but I'm not sure)

Then, I deleted DAEMON Tools and VirtualBox from my computer, did restart but it didn't solve the problem.

I checked the device manager and saw a message on the mouse device properties that says that windows cannot start this hardware because something wrong in the registry.

So I deleted the upper filter in the registry, did restart the the message was gone but the problem was still there!

BTW all this actions were operated only by the keyboard so that was pretty difficult.

Anyways, I even tried to launch the computer on safe mode but even in safe mode the mouse didn't work (still was invisible, frozen and unusable).

Thank you for any help!

Solution

According to this site, running nomousy.exe with the "/hide" parameter hides the cursor, & running the file without any parameters makes the mouse visible again. So download nomousy.exe & simply run the file. If this doesn't bring back your cursor, then run nomousy.exe with /show...

It's Microsoft Compact Optical Mouse 500 v2.0.

Now I remember that a few days ago I wrote a script that involved an executable file i downloaded from internet called nomousy.exe, and what this file does is to freeze and make the mouse cursor invisible. I'm absolutely sure that this file have something to do with the problem... If anyone knows this file and what is does in the computer please help me fix it!
