Okay,

I've never experienced this issue previously.

I'm playing Valorant and I notice what seems like network connection issues. Not frame drops... my FPS never spike or dip.

For a while, I believe my issue is network issues, but I can't figure out why. I have 300+ mbps download.

And then all of a sudden I notice this issue isn't just taking place in game! I can be on my blank desktop without a single application open... just moving my mouse around the screen or casually browsing the internet. The mouse starts lagging around when I move it (it seems like a massive frame drop in just my mouse if that makes sense).

And it is inconsistent. Sometimes it happens nonstop... sometimes it's like there has never been a problem.

It is so strange and SOOOOO annoying.

That is probably my best initial explanation of the issue I am seeing. Now I will explain the troubleshooting I have done to try and diagnose the issue.

The first thing I did was unplug my wireless mouse's dongle and plug it back in... simple but no luck.

Next, I switched the mouse's battery... no solution.

Next, I switched the mouse in general to another wireless mouse with a different dongle. No solution the other mouse does the same exact thing.

At this point, I decided my issue wasn't specific to the mouse itself.

Then I went to the drivers. I entirely uninstalled the Logitech g hub. Uninstalled and reinstalled the Windows mouse drivers. No luck.

Uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers. Nothing.

Frustrated I said whatever and ENTIRELY reset my computer...

usb windows media installation -> whip all my existing drives -> fresh install on my 1tb samsung 980 pro.

Everything seems fine I get Valorant, discord, and a few other programs installed maybe steam. Everything works fine for a while no mouse lag... things are smooth.

And then all of a sudden, open my computer, and BAM there it is again. Just browsing the internet nothing taxing. MOUSE LAG

Okay, now I test hardware.

Samsung ssd magician diagnostic test... says drive is all good.

Intel CPU diagnostic test... passes all tests.

Windows built-in memory test... does full reboot test and comes back with no errors.

The most annoying part is that this happens inconsistently from what I can tell. It's random and I can't pin it down to fix it.

I have exhausted everything I could think of to be causing the issue. Now I turn it over to the experts... ask away I will try my best to explain anything further.

Thank you in advance.

Can you define "mouse lag"? What is exactly happening?
I will try to catch a video whenever it happens again.

It almost feels like going from a 244 hz monitor to a 10 hz monitor but only affecting the mouse.

The problem is consistent on both my 244hz monitor and my 165 hz monitor. So I don't believe it is related to the monitors directly.
