Hello,

So I am having an issue where my computer, after playing something such as Rust, will make a beeping noise that is short and consecutive, as well as the mouse moving a few pixels every few seconds. The beeping however stops as soon as the program is closed via Task Manager. I have a bad feeling its my RAM because on the computers start up, my desktop sometimes loads a black screen before loading, OR it loads the desktop and then the actual programs I load, such as steam, will take 30 odd seconds to physically open. Once it has open however, the computer is very responsive as it should be.

Specs if needed:
CPU FX-8350
GPU GTX 760 2GB
RAM 8GB Patriot (The brand is obscure I know 😛) and I think it is 1600mhz (Not 100%)

I did read somewhere the desktop issue was a HDD error however I am also not 100% sure.
HDD Toshiba 1TB
I am going to be getting an SSD soon to make most programs load faster as well however so this may also fix it?

EDIT: I also checked in Event Viewer about both of the problems for a good half-hour and I couldn't find any error leading to them.
After each beeping error, I checked instantly and there were no errors leading to that aswell.

Thanks in advance,

George

Yeah, it's getting to point where the performance is hit due to a lot of files. I have around 250GB free out of 1TB when mine started to load everything slow, black screen before loading etc...
If you really want you can still go for the SSD. I really don't think it's a mechanical issue with the drive. Formatting it would most likely fix the problems and you can run tests to see if it's free of any critical problems. But if you do need a lot of storage then go for another HDD.
Does sound like a bad HDD, as it only happens when it's under load. The other problems you described, black screen before loading, 30 seconds to open steam (Quite normal if you have a filled up HDD) are all most likely caused by the HDD. I had the same problems as you (expect the mouse and beeping noise) and after formatting the drive they all went away. I would recommend doing some tests to see if there is any specific problems with the HDD. If not, try reinstalling Windows and formatting all the partitions. This should hopefully fix the problems if it's the hard drive. Also how filled up is your HDD?

I feared it was this but the RAM I have is a obscure brand and was sorta hoping it was that 😛
I'm upgrading my CPU very soon as well as my GPU so alongside this, i'll get my RAM and istead of the SSD, another HDD, except for windows 😛 (I'll use the otherwone for bulk storage)
