Ok i've found the ULTIMATE mouse mat , no seriously, being an architect i spend ages on my computer working with CAD proggys, PS, 3DS etc etc. plus all the time i put into games...
thru the number of mouses , trk-balls that i have tried loads of devices and the one element which is a 'pain in the place where the sun dont shine' is the underneath of these devices ( mouse balls, pads) which tend to gather the bits and pieces that litter our desks.
you've all tried to solve this by changing mouse mats: using aluminium, glass, steel, cloth. nothing every quite makes the cut, right?.... having to use bits of teflon taping, (which finishes off the mouse at a crucial moment, in CS for example) buggin u're day LOL.
Ok heres the catch A/ the mouse gets dirty, b/ the mouse pads tend to move on the desk.
so u need something slippery and heavy, plus it needs to be flat.
the answer is simple : it's in our houses, or to be more precise on our floors.
A Stone tile is heavy and not quite slippery so it doesn't quite fit the job. Now synthetic stone tablets ( made of stone dust and a composit glue are just as heavy, and they are protected by a coat of teflon.
SO here it is folks : better than ALL u can think of. use a lightly ruff one, it works the best!
