Mouse mats

I wasn't sure where to put this, but this seemed like a good as place as any. Anyway...

I just bought a new mouse, whilst I was purchasing I saw some mouse mats, now I can't say I have ever bought one before but it made me wonder.
Has anyone bought an "expensive" one? Do they make a lot of difference? Is it worth buying a good one being that I am an avid gamer?

in general all of the expensive mouspads are a waste of money. at most i would suggest spending under $10 on a foam/cloth pad from staples in a solid color.

however i'm sure some "pro gamer" will try and suggest otherwise...

They're nice to have if you don't mind spending 40 bucks on a mousepad.

I like it a lot more than just playing on a tabletop or cheapo cloth pad.

I use the Razer Destructor, which i believe is discontinued. The successor is below.
