Mouse moves but randomly wont open programs/applications

Hello all,

I am having the weirdest problem with my computer. randomly my mouse will just stop opening programs/applications, i cannot click on anything in the taskbar etc. I have also tried a different mouse... & reformatted my computer back to the bare basics, reinstalled all the drivers to no avail. one minute i am playing BF3 fine or doing something else and down it goes... the only thing i can then do is reboot my system and go again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Experiencing any other problems that might indication infection ? Might run some scans, just to eliminate that possibility. When the error occurs, try going into device manager, to see if error is reported. Also check Event Viewer for errors.

Borrow a crap mouse from someone for a week and see if it continues, mice are cheap would be a good idea to eliminate it with a known good part.

Thankyou all for the replies,

It appears as though running Ccleaner and fixing the registry issues that came up has fixed this problem. How i still had registry problems after a reformat is a mystery to me ><. It is running fine now thanks all.
