I just got the mouse today. I got a mouse pad with it. I tried using it but I noticed that it moves when it's slightly in the air. What should I do? It's a NPET RGB mouse.

I tried my other mouse (doesn't have this problem) and it did the same thing. Here's my mouse pad.

I do not understand "slightly in the air". Wondering if some translator software is involved and that the translation is going somewhat astray.

That said, I would not expect the mouse to be moving unless the host surface was vibrating or there was some other source of motion nearby. Music with a heavy bass beat for example.....

Please add more explanation. May be some software/driver bug that makes it appear that the mouse is moving.

Downloading and reinstalling the applicable mouse drivers could resolve the problem.

Just need to figure out what is the actual problem.....

The mouse is like 1 cm off of my desk. This is still registering movement on my PC. I thought mice would need to be directly on the surface to move the cursor. Not much else to explain.

Thank you!

My mouse (Microsoft Wireless Optical 2000) will respond to movement without being in direct contact with the desk surface.

Not anywhere near a full centimeter but just barely off of the surface.

Put the mouse on the desk and do not worry about what happens if the mouse is off the surface. The mouse may work as we have both discovered but the practically of, and the meaning of, being off the desk surface is truly moot.

Not going to be holding up my mouse and "waving" it about just because the cursor sometimes happens to move as well. :)
