So ive had a Steelseries Rival 106 mouse for a couple years now and lately it started to jitter and disconnect for like 1 second and connect again. But sometimes it even "breaks completely" cause when it disconnects mouse pointer is in center of screen and you can't move it even if you switch usb ports. you can only fix this by restarting the PC.

What's interesting is that plugging another mouse in during this issue, that one doesnt work either, but if you don't use that mouse at all, the other one will work just fine without any jitter or disconnects ( even though it sucks still because its an office mouse).

I've already ordered a Cooler Master MM711 mouse but I'm still not sure if its a motherboard or mouse issue?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Have you tried manually downloading the mouse drivers directly from the manufacturer's website? Reinstall and reconfigure as necessary. No third party tools or installers.

Also try running the built in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Lastly try "dism" and "sfc /scannow". Could be corrupted files....

Overall, try another known working mouse on your computer.

Try your mouse on another known working computer.

Determine if the jitters and breaks follow the mouse or stay with the computer.

i use windows 10 22H2 , h61m-e mb, i7-2600k , 1660 super, 16gb ram. 250ssd, 1tb hdd.

windows automatically updates the drivers i think, cause theres no option to update them in steelseries gg app or somewhere else, its a steelseries rival 106 mouse.

Ill try doing the troubleshooting thanks.

while that disconnection occured when i couldnt use any mouse on the pc, i connected it to a laptop and it works. its like mouse rgb lights up and its connected to pc but u cant move the mouse even if its another mouse and swapping usb ports didnt work either.

mouse works fine as far as ive tested on the laptop, sometimes its fine on pc too and theres no jitters or disconnects.

ive updated my windows and other drivers and everything seems good for now idk, ill test it out more.
