Hi,

Anyone know why my mouse will sometimes randomly stop and then come back on maybe. The power on the mouse is on when it stops. I've already tried different USB ports. Other mice work fine. I disabled turning off to save power on USB devices. As soon as I added another ssd yesterday this started to happened.

I've tried using different cords for the ssd and I also tried different ports. Drivers are up to date on the computer and USB devices. Sounds like that mouse has a problem doesn't it? Well I don't think so because it worked fine before installing another ssd. I remember this happening with a HDD also I had as an extra HDD.

boot to linux on a usb drive. test the mouse in a new environment.if software in windows is causing the issues the mouse will work in linux. if it does not work in linux it is the mouse.
download Rufus and a distro of linux, use rufus to extract the linux iso onto the USB. boot to the USB and check the mouse.

Please update your post to include full system hardware, OS, and software specs.

What make and model mouse are you using? What other USB devices do you have (i.e., extra HDD, external)?

Are you using any sort of USB hub - unpowered or separately powered?

Could be the mouse. Do, indeed, test the mouse on another computer. If the problem follows the mouse then you have identified the source of the problem, i.e., the mouse. As to what could be wrong with the mouse will take some additional troubleshooting if at all practical.

Could be just something breaking/broken. General age, wear and tear, some low end component reaching EOL (End of Life).

Hi,

Sorry I've not posted in a day or so. But I wanted to try something out and test it. I believe I've fixed it. I bought Razer Surround Personalized 7.1 Gaming Audio Software PRO about 5 years ago and it has worked fine.

I'm guessing and I'm pretty sure it conflicted with my G430 Logitech headset when I bought it. I'm not sure why though. I uninstalled the Razer software. So far it seems to have fixed the issue with the cursor stopping sometimes.
