Does it make any difference, wehn you have a mouse w/ more than 800dpi? If yes, in what games? I know, that there are mouses out w/ over 2000dpi, i.e. the Razer Boomslang w/ 2100dpi.

How high is the max. resolution of the PS/2? I have my mouse connected to the PS/2 because of the safe mode of Windows and I want to know, if it would make a difference if I qould connect it to the USB.

I will not change to USB because of the sample rate, because in Win XP I can chnage it in the control panel and in Win 98 I used the program PS/2-rate to change it. I now have 200Hz in both OSes.

In Google I found nothing about the max. resolution of the PS/2. Only when i install my mousedriver, the setup program always recommends me to abort the installation and change to the USB, because the maximal resolution of 800dpi can maybe not be reached w/ the PS/2.

I mainly play UT2003/4 and games, where the mouse-resolution isnt important.

I use the default mouse sensitivity in UT2k3/3k4.

My mouse is a Logitec Optical Wheelmouse w/ 3 buttons (including mousewheel), model number is M-BJ69. I bought it for about €19,90, which is cheap for a wheel mouse, but it is a normal price for a wheel mouse which has only 3 buttons. I have bought in summer 2003.

Edit (04-29-04, 3:58pm):

I just tested the mouse resolution UT2k3/2k4. In both games I couldn move the mouse cursor less than 2 pixel, but moving it 2 pixel was always possible, in vertical and horizontal direction. But maybe this is the default in this games, because the lines of the crosshair are 2 pixels.

Mouse-acceleration is off in both games.
