Mouse sensitity suddenly changes when playing games

So my mouse has suddenly started to become Super sensitive sometimes. I am sure it's not because of rising FPS, because I have my fps capped to 40. I have a Mad Catz R.A.T 5 and Windows 8.1. Thanks already.

No... It sometimes starts for like 0,5 sec to use high sensitivity which seems about 3k DPI.

its the mouse settings you have in game. most likely the sensitivity is turned way up.

the 40fps you claim your game video is capped at (its likely 50 if you are overseas) has almost nothing to do with your mouse input and is not going to cause the mouse to speed up or slow down.

the only things which control the speed of the mouse are your windows mouse settings, and mouse drivers you have installed and in game mouse settings.

how the mouse acts in windows can be different from in game due to your in game settings. it is also possible to have the mouse act different in different games due to different settings.

if the mouse seems to move more distance when you move quick and not as much when you move slow when you move the same distance on the mousepad then you likely have mouse acceleration turned on. in windows mouse config turn off "enhance precision" in the second tab.

FPS affects it... For example if I normally have 40 fps and suddenly it raises to 60 fps my pc stops dropping frames and my mouse moves more smoothly and faster. But when I have it set to 40fps max it doesn't...


Also CoD4: MW Is one of these some games that do this. It just seems the same as with unlimited max fps but LESS often. Turning down sensitivity doesn't help because when it works normally the mouse moves too slowly because I play with windows slider set to the middle and DPI with about ~ 425.

if you have unstable fps perhaps you have a weak video card. you might be better off lowering your graphic settings so that you get a stable 59/60 fps.

at 40fps and 60fps really doesnt affect your mouse settings however it could definitely affect how fast or how smooth the movement is on screen. remember that as you look around each frame needs to be rendered so if only 40 frames of every 60 are rendered by the gpu things are going to look choppy over when all 60 are rendered. your actual mouse input settings however arent different and changing them isnt going to fix the problem.

your dpi is low. most users play with 800-1200 and some even more. having too low of a dpi makes mouse movements choppy but having them too high makes the mouse move too fast.

to me it sounds like you need to turn down your graphic settings or get a gpu capable of handling your current settings if you dont want to do that. likely the slowdown feeling is due to the gpu lagging behind. you should be running at a stable 59/60fps and if you do so the problem is likely going to dissappear. well provided you also disabled mouse acceleration.

So should I turn my mouse DPI up but Windows settings down? Also I got a Intel HD Graphics. No numbers in it. Nahh... Whatever I can propably throw this laptop out of the window when my cpu arrives for my new pc.

no if you read my post above i said that its likely not your mouse settings and changing them isnt going to do too much good i would think.

the issue is probably that you are on integrated graphics which SUCK for gaming. the only thing i can suggest is to turn your settings in game down until you stabilize your fps.

Sorry but already done that 😛 Also it only happens in some games for example it doesn't happen in TF2 at all.

you can try lowering the resolution in the game as well. sometimes that helps
