Mouse stays on when pc is off ( i know there's a way to turn that off in bios)

Hi guys.
So my mouse stays on when the pc is off!
I managed to turn that off in the bios of my Maximus V gene.
i bought an Asus P5G41T-M LX mobo to re-use an old duo core i had laying around here and when i turn the pc off all the lights of the mouse stay on which really really bugs me cause it has a strong blue light.
The problem here is i cant remember how i solved the issue on the Maximus V gene and the bios are different ( although they are both Asus).
Anyone knows how to turn it off? I think it has something to do with the power that goes to the usb ports and all that but i cant find it in the bios and i dont want to turn anything off without being 100% positive and im not an expert on bios.

Note: my external hd also stays on but the keyboard doesnt... weird right?

Why not just unplugg it...

If you go in bios, you probably have to fiddle with wake up with mouse / usb charging I guess

We'll it's what i've been doing but it's kinda annoying having to go under the desk to turn it off and on everyday a couple of times.
The thing that bugs me here is that i fixed it on another mobo so there has got to be a way to do it on this one!!

Hi, Try in Device manager, USB devices, right click, properties, power management, enable allow the computer to turn off this device...

I believe some power supply/motherboard combinations leave power on to some of the USB ports so you can charge devices while the PC is turned off. You could try different USB ports for your mouse to see if that works. I use the usb charging myself and am thankful that it works that way.

are you using windows 8? if so you need to disable fast startup. in windwos 8 by default when you choose shut down it puts it into hibernate not shutdown, here are the steps to disable. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html

I'm using windows 7 ultimate 32bits... i've tweaked with everything remotly connected with power/usb on w7 and nothing worked... i believe i have to do something in the bios that disables all power when the computer is off, cause its not just the mouse, my external hard drive also stays on but its only a little dot so i can live with that.

No no, it stays on with the external hdd on or off, it doesnt matter, whatever i connect to the usb that doesnt need alot of power stays on. I can't charge my phone or ipod when the pc is turned off.
The blue light is killing me = (

If there's an external powered device connected to the USB (like USB hub, or external HDD), it can give this kind of issues. Disconnect all USB devices but keyboard and mouse and check again.
